CNSとNP募集要項で違いが分かる!(ED)

CNSやNPの募集要項を見ると、役割の違いがわかりやすいかと思ったので、Monsterjobs.comに載っているいくつかの仕事から紹介します。

まず、ER(Emergency Room, or EMegrency Department)に限ってサーチしてみると。。。


1) EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT NURSE PRACTITIONER
We are seeking an Emergncy Department Nurse Practitioner to serve in our fast tract area. This is a 12-hour Shift position. In this role, you will utilize your extensive clinical knowledge to demonstrate a high level of accountability to patients and colleagues. You will perform acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic corrective measures in collaboration with and the under the direction of a physician or surgeon licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of New York.

2)ER Nurse Practitioner
We currently have Emergency Room Nurse Practitioners positions available for our Full-Time PM Shift. The hours our 1:00pm - 11:00pm or 2:00pm - 12:00am. The nurse practitioner serves as a primary care provider and consultant for individuals, families and communities in a variety of emergency department areas. Their practice emphasizes health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. This includes taking histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering, performing and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, treatments and non-pharmacological therapies for the management of the conditions which they diagnose.


3)Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Emergency Department

A 500+​ bed hospital in Long Island, New York is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for their Emergency Department.​ The 35 bed ED (includes Fast Track Unit) sees approximately 60,000 visits per year.​
The ED Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) works with and advises the ED Administrative Director in the development, direction, coordination and evaluation of the practice of professional ED nursing.​ This coordination will result in the facilitation of a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care within the ED.​ The CNS will be responsible for the development of excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members.​ The CNS demonstrates a firm knowledge base and clinical expertise, functions as a clinical resource, conducts and facilitates patient care consultation, and provides resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.​

4)Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) - Emergency Department (Registered Nurse)

Salary range: $80k - $97k (based on experience and credentials)

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Emergency Department works with and advises the Emergency Administrative Director in the development, direction, coordination and evaluation of the practice of professional ED nursing. This coordination will result in the facilitation of a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care within the ED. The CNS will be responsible for the development of excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of clinical standards of practice and establishing competency standards for staff members. The CNS demonstrates a firm knowledge base and clinical expertise, functions as a clinical resource, conducts and facilitates patient care consultation, and provides resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (BSN) and Clinical Specialty Masters Degree required. Active New York RN license. Current certifications include: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and BCEN. Five years of recent clinical experience in a high-volume Level I or Level II Emergency Department in addition to three years in CNS role preferred

要するに、NPは診断をし、テストを注文し、処方をする。(だから、仕事の説明が短い)。

CNSはEDのディレクター(医師ですね)と協力して、EDで働く看護師さんたちの教育、研究(患者のアウトカムデータなどを集める)などなど、全体の流れをよくするのが仕事、というわけです。
